Love At Its Finest
The word of God will provoke us “into change”! Our words and actions reveal what is working within the heart. It is so easy to quickly form an opinion and/or judgement against another. There are people that do this and want the worst for a person. It is as though their heart is set on seeing the bad for someone rather than the good. Again, it is what is within the heart that is being revealed. Rather than making a quick opinion or judgment against another and wanting something bad to happen to them, why not release a prayer of change for them? I have seen people, who want nothing but bad to happen against another because they did something that they did not like. For instance, I have seen people who wanted judgment against someone they thought is their enemy! They want revenge! They want evil for evil they think was done unto them! Yet, is that how a Believer in Christ is to behave? NOT! Well, what IF our God did that to us because of our imperfections? This is not how a Believer In Christ is to be living! The Bible does NOT agree to that at all! In fact, it says LOVE YOUR ENEMIES! “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy; But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].” (Matthew 5:43-45 AMP). Many do not like to hear that! Why? Because the flesh gets joy out of getting even! Our flesh can gets us into big trouble. It can cause our behavior to not be Christ-like in many ways! We do not want to react, returning evil for evil! We would be compromising God’s Word and lowering ourselves down to another’s level! That does not need to be our behavior! Stay walking in the realm of the AGAPE LOVE! Keep the standard held high in your life using the Word of God as the plumb-line!
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (AMP) “Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].”
The Holy Spirit is working on “all” to work the Father’s Will! We must stay open to receive the True word of God in our life for the work to be completed. Let’s allow the word of God to provoke us into change!
“But I say to you who are listening now to Me: [[a]in order to heed, make it a practice to] LOVE your enemies, TREAT WELL (do good to, act nobly toward) those who detest you and pursue you with hatred, INVOKE BLESSINGS UPON and PRAY FOR THE HAPPINESS of those who curse you, IMPLORE GOD’S BLESSING (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you]. To the one who strikes you on the [b]jaw or cheek, offer the other [c]jaw or cheek also; and from him who takes away your outer garment, do not withhold your undergarment as well. Give away to everyone who begs of you [who is [d]in want of necessities], and of him who takes away from you your goods, do not demand or require them back again. And as you would like and desire that men would do to you, do exactly so to them. If you [merely] love those who love you, what [e]quality of credit and thanks is that to you? For even [f]the [very] sinners love their lovers (those who love them). And if you are kind and good and do favors to and benefit those who are kind and good and do favors to and benefit you, what [g]quality of credit and thanks is that to you? For even [h]the preeminently sinful do the same. And if you lend money [i]at interest to those from whom you hope to receive, what [j]quality of credit and thanks is that to you? Even notorious sinners lend money [k]at interest to sinners, so as to recover as much again. But love your enemies and be kind and do good [doing favors [l]so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but [m]considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense, and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and the selfish and wicked.” (Luke 6:27-35 AMP)
